White Shimmer Dress: PinkBlush Maternity (c/o)
Succulents: Eastern Leaf
Hand Lettered Plant Flags: Drafts & Crafts
Cookies: Cinotti’s Bakery (does ship)
Banners & Balloons: Target

This past weekend, my mother hosted a wonderful baby shower for me at Mariposa restaurant in the Boca Raton, Neiman Marcus. It was such a fabulous afternoon celebrating our soon-to-be bundle of joy!! Laughter filled the air with all of my closest gal pals from high school, friends, and family. When we are all together, it truly feels like not a day has gone by. It is hard to believe it will be 10 years since graduating! Our baby boy was showered with beautiful gifts. Jason and I feel truly blessed for all of the love we have received over the past 8 months.

The hardest part about the shower as the mommy-to-be, was trying to figure out what I should wear. Searching for a dress at 7 months pregnant was not easy at first. Thanks to PinkBlush Maternity, finding the perfect dress quickly became stress free. PinkBlush is an online maternity boutique, specializing in stylish clothing and accessories for pregnant women. Their website features hundreds of maternity dresses, there is even a designated section for baby shower dresses. I was looking for a blue or white dress for the shower so the second I laid eyes on this white, shimmery dress, I knew I found “the one!” The best part, PinkBlush is not only a maternity site, they also sell “normal” clothing as well.

I am pleased to announce that I have teamed up with PinkBlush to bring you an awesome GIVEAWAY! Head over to Instagram for a chance to win a $75 gift card to Pink Blush. Follow @dccold to get the details on how to enter the giveaway. I love this giveaway because it is great for expectant mothers and everyone else. PinkBlush has apparel, shoes, and accessories for all (not just maternity). For all my preggo mamas, I encourage you to check out PinkBlush’s Maternity section because they make being trendy, actually affordable while pregnant. Good Luck to all who enter! The giveaway ends on March 31st at 10pm.

Dani

2 Simple Easter DIYs (great for kiddos)

Craft Box

March 20, 2016 by Drafts & Crafts

A holiday would not be a party in my home without some DIYs! Here are 2 EASY crafts that would be perfect for mama and child.

Bunny Garland
IMG_5051

{Materials}

  • Bunny print from the Internet
  • string or ribbon
  • craft paper
  • glue
  • cotton balls
  • glitter pen or color pen
  • small clothes pins
  • scissors
  1. Print out picture of your desired bunny from Clip Art or Google images. Cut out the bunny and use it to trace the shape 6 times on craft paper. 6 bunnies was the perfect number for my garland.
  2. Glue a cotton ball onto each bunny’s tail.
  3. Use a glitter pen or sharpie to make an eye on each bunny.
  4. Attach the bunnies to the ribbon/string with a clothes pin.

Viola! Perfect 30 minute DIY that you could get the kids to help create. Find a perfect spot in the house to show off your garland, like a clear wall, counter, or fire place mantel. You can see I put mine above a decorate bench to add a little color to a blank wall.

Cheetos Carrots

IMG_5048

{Materials}

  • Cheetos (one bag makes about 6 carrots)
  • green ribbon
  • piping bags
  • scissors
  1. Cut the green ribbon into 8 inches pieces.
  2. Stuff each piping bag with Cheetos.
  3. Complete each “carrot bag” with a green bow.

If your Easter consists of entertaining some little ones, place these Cheetos carrots in a basket so the kids can grab a quick, fun snack… or if you are like me and just love Cheetos, try to quick DIY. I hope your Easter consists of dozens of deviled eggs and remembering what the day is all about, and praising the Lord with your dear friends and family! Jason and I will be headed to south Florida for my baby shower and to celebrate Easter with my family and our close friends who are coming into town! I can’t wait to share about my baby shower AND there may be a sweet giveaway coming soon!!

{Swing dress: Gap on sale!} {Flats: Gap}
{Bucket bag: Tory Burch old}

We are one week away from spring and I am 1 week away from not fitting in any non-maternity clothes! At 30 weeks, I have still been wearing a lot of non-maternity clothes, mostly loose shirts and swing or shift dresses that boast a generous amount of extra room. Now that this tummy is more pronounced, I will have to pick up a few maternity dresses for spring. When I look for spring dresses, I look for colors and patterns that will transition into summer attire. Our baby boy is due at the end of May, but I have learned that new mommas tend to wear maternity clothes for a few months. Here are a few dresses that I have my eye on…

  1. Tank Maxi via Gap
  2. Floral Tank Dress via Old Navy
  3. Eyelet Trim Dress via Old Navy
  4. Off the Shoulder Midi via Pea In a Pod
  5. Printed Maxi with Open Back via Pea in a Pod

Have you found the perfect spring dress yet?

Dani

Homemade Cool Whip in KitchenAid mixer

Kitchen

March 15, 2016 by Drafts & Crafts

Here is a 5 minute recipe for homemade cool whip in the ol’ KitchenAid mixer.

IMG_4903

{Ingredients}

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powder sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

{Steps}

  1. Chill the mixing bowl in the refridgerator that attaches to the KitchenAid for 30 minutes-1 hour prior to making the cool whip.
  2. To begin, place one cup of heavy cream and vanilla extract in mixing bowl.
  3. Slowly begin the mixer at speed 4. Pour in the powdered sugar while in 20 second increments turning up the speed to 10. The mixer should take about 1.5 minutes in total to make the whip. Tip: you will know the cool whip is complete when it makes peaks through each spin.

I have run into many recipes lately that call for cool whip. And let me tell you, homemade cool whip is SO much better. My favorite food to pair cool whip with is strawberries for a “semi-healthy snack.”  Put a fun twist to your cool whip by adding a few drops of food coloring. For St. Patty’s I made green cool whip and created strawberry shells that look like four leaf clovers… I’m such a sucker for holiday treats!

Serenity & Rose Quartz for Spring

{Jeans: Old Navy Maternity} {Lipstick: Dior Rose Caprice}
{Purse: Kate Spade} {Nails: OPI}
{Flats: Gap}

I wanted to give y’all a quick update because I have been a little MIA. If you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat, then you know that we FINALLY bought a house! The past two weeks feel like a BLURRR! Jason and I moved into our first home about 10 days ago!  The last two weeks have consisted of packing, unpacking, and cleaning around our crazy schedules. We went away for the weekend to celebrate our sweet friends wedding, Melissa and Chris. Hard to believe, but yesterday was the first night that I have been home since we moved in! On a side note, I do not recommend anyone moving when 7 months pregnant! Jason and I are exhausted!! We feel so blessed to be in our first home and for all of our friends and family that helped with the move! We can’t wait to get settled before the big arrival of our baby boy! I can’t wait to share pictures of our new home, especially the baby’s nursery reveal! Hopefully that will come together in the next month….or two!

Enough move talk, has anyone else been crushing on Pantone’s color of the year? You may be wondering, what the heck does that mean? Pantone is a color intelligence institute that studies and names colors and the way they make people feel. Each year, they announce a color of the year! For the first time this year, Pantone has nominated two shades that balance each other for color of the year, Serenity and Rose Quartz. As a style blogger, it is an exciting time to discover new color palettes and see how the color of the year will have a large impact on the fashion industry. Spring is just two weeks away, so I wanted to showcase some fun ways to incorporate both Serenity and Rose Quartz into one outfit. This peplum top is not a maternity top, I just sized up to ensure that it would fit this big bump of mine! I am loving this shade of pink (Rose Caprice) by Dior. It is close to rose quartz and gives an awesome pop against the serenity hue! Have you gotten any new items that match Pantone’s color of the year?
